Dr. Beth is a 1999 Doctoral Graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Clinical Medical Psychology Program. His clinical internship was performed at Vanderbilt University and The Nashville Veterans Administration Medical Center. His post doctoral fellowship was at Birmingham Psychiatry. Dr. Beth is an Alabama Licensed Clinical Psychologist (#1049).

Dr. Beth is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and clinical hypnosis. He is a member in good standing with both the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). He is an ASCH approved consultant in clinical hypnosis and trained EMDR psychotherapist. He has received specialized training from both organizations in the treatment of simple and complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, chronic pain management and working with Veterans and their families. He has worked with Vietnam Combat Veterans at the Nashville Veterans Administration Medical Center (Nashville VAMC) and with Gulf War Veterans at the Birmingham VAMC. He was a cognitive therapist in STAR*D, a multicenter research program studying therapeutic interventions for depression. Dr. Beth’s special interests include simple and complex posttraumatic stress disorder resulting from combat, traumatic injury, physical abuse and childhood emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Additional areas of interest include dissociative disorders, chronic pain management, affective disorders, anxiety disorders, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Dr. Beth works with adolescent, adult, geriatric, and dual diagnosis clients, to include individual and group psychotherapy. Comprehensive Psychological Assessments are also performed.
